New York State Militia Pistol, Simeon North, US Model 1816, .54 Caliber Smoothbore

Issued to the New York State militia and stamped at the breech "SNY"

This is one of the very last of the Model 1816's manufactured. The lock plate is marked "S. North above eagle centered by US" above MIDLN-Conn.; the breech is stamped "P/US" and SNY. Front site and flash pan are brass; the stock displays a cartouche on the left flat; complete with appropriate swelled tip wood ramrod.

Measurement: Dimensions: 15.5" overall, 9.25" barrel

Condition: Iron is mottled dark brown fading to gray; barrel band and muzzle display overall pitting stock retains original finish and has developed a rich patina. Mechanically tight; stock has a few dings.
