Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "F LAUFERSWEILER / EMPIRE CITY POTTERY / 517 & 519 W 27. ST. NY", cylindrical jar with applied lug handles and flared rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch [rare]. Cobalt highlights the maker's mark and capacity mark. (Francis Laufersweiler)

Condition: Overall, very good; Y-shaped hairline crack extending across underside, part of which extends 2-inches up front of jar.
