The .72-caliber brown barrel length is 44 1/8". The lock action is tight and smooth; marked vertically at rear J. & C.B; marked ahead of hammer US (in script) over eagle over EXETER; the barrel is marked EXETER just ahead of breech. The lock, buttplate and trigger guard are in very dark, likely untouched patina; barrel bands are a dark bronzy brown. The stock remains in original finish, there are two tight fissures at middle barrel band due to shrinkage, easily repaired; no wood loss. A very tight shrinkage fissure travels horizontally at an angle from frizzen spring to barrel; side plate appears to have been missing for 200-years! [based on color of recessed mortice]. If you like them untouched in-the-black... this is it.
