Dry Pottery previously known as Melcher Pottery. John Dry (1785-1870) apprenticed to Melcher; took over the potter in 1804 at age 19; his three sons produced pottery and farmed.

A fine redware plate with coggled edge, the interior featuring heavy wavy and straight line four quill slip decoration; wavy trails of green and brown slip centering straight band of brown and green slip stripes.
