Condition: Commensurate with age, use, and medium. Scattered loss to reverse of
right side; four .5-inches holes; scattered minor separation; outer border decoration
faded. The coverlet displays well…imperfections seem trivial considering age and
rarity…a true collector’s piece.
Additional Information: An outstanding rarity featuring a central vase of flowers
centered by floral sprays of differing sizes and designs withing a wide meandering floral
vine border centered by the outer border having traces of blue painted flowers. The
stitching in chevron pattern.

Additional Information: A Jefferson County, New York, blue and white wool, and
cotton jacquard-woven coverlet dated 1835; two corner blocks featuring full-bodied
standing lions beneath “B. TALCOTT. / 1835”. Tree, monkey, and dog border enclosing
repeated rosettes, eagles, and stars.
