Conjoined heart fruited family trees such as that which we offer, done
in watercolor, seem to have been created within a narrow strip of
Massachusetts and New Hampshire stretching from Cape Ann to Watertown,
Billerica and up through Townsend, Lunenburg and Ashby to Sharon, New Hampshire.
William Saville, Joshua Pool, Jr., and William Richardson executed many of the
known examples…students and imitators inspired by the aforementioned artists
created closely related compositions. This piece is signed in pen "Drawn By
Levi Sanborn / February 24 - 1813".
