Condition: Lined, new stretcher and frame; small nick to paing at 5 o’clock seen as a
white spot; a few very minor trivial “touches”. Displays well, great color.
Additional Information: Minutemen firing on the British in Lexington, Massachusetts

Condition: Original untouched condition, scattered minor losses as depicted
Additional Information: America…Goddess of Liberty, an allegorical celebration of the
new nations Independence and Security. The Goddess seated on roiling clouds
supports a shield bearing the arms of the United States while feeding an American
Eagle on the Wing; in her left hand is a staff with Liberty cap. The composition within an
oval border displaying raised bullets [dots]…gilt spandrels ornament the corners. It is
possible that this gem adorned an early piece of firefighting apparatus.

Unknown maker, Likely Mid 19th Century
Large and heavy tray featuring engraved portrait of George Washington within oval medallion surmounted by star over liberty cap�scroll engraved with Declaration of Independence; a sword and two books all festooned with wreath of laurel. Centering the portrait medallion, held aloft by cherubs are fringed curtains diapered in stars. Beneath the portrait is displayed a swaged wreath of plenty bound by ribbon engraved with the names of many American states. (Tarnished, some silver thinned to cooper on the back, limited to high spots, tarnished, else fine; 33 by 19.5")

Americana: 36 Star Bunting, Flag - SOLD
Description: For a parade window hanging, or wall hanging, this 36 Star Flag inspired
bunting is structure with a field of 6 x 6 stars at the very top. The remaining 8 and 1/2 ft
are a 3-stripe pattern with the outer 2 being red and the center stripe being white. This
bunting configuration is often seen as swag decoration around a large window or
around a historical vignette, and something streaming from a window over a
parade. The 36 Star Flag originated in 1865 with Nevada Statehood, although this
pattern bunting can be found anytime between 1865 and 1900 as some manufacturers
used prints or print patterns for parade and patriotic events. The stars are printed, and
the entire bunting is printed on cotton. Colored stripes are individually printed, and
machine stitched together.
Size: Overall 126” x 20" W; Star Field of 6 x 6 stars measures 24" x 20" W
Condition: Overall good condition. Some fading to canton (star field) and stripes as this
bunting spent minor time outdoors to acquire this moderate fading.

Additional Information: Superb carved sea chest with all elements carved from the
solid. The top features a shield eagle flanked by stars and articulated banners, the front
depicts two facing whimsical sea creatures and a shield shaped carved escutcheon.
With two massive brass handles, projecting molded top, canted ends featuring, applied
brass stars and dovetail joinery.
