Hand-forged wrought iron rushnip with tripod base and penny feet. The simple forged counterweight, tapered jaws, and restrained form are characteristic of late eighteenth-century regional ironwork. Illustrated in Early Lighting (The Rushlight Club), page 12, figure 2-11. Formerly from the Mabel & Lawrence Cooke Collection.
