Opposing fingers, lapped construction…the finger joints on the lid and base face towards each other rather than in the same direction, a signature characteristic of early 19th-century bentwood boxes produced in Hingham, Massachusetts, famously nicknamed “Bucket Town”.

Item Date: 19th Century

Measurement: Height: 1.5"; Diameter: 2.5"

Material: Maple and pine.

Item Condition: Other than a minor loss, a sliver of wood from bottom of rim lid being missing as depicted – all else in very good condition. Displays well.
