
This early to mid-nineteenth century slip decorated, red earthenware plate with a coggled edge was made in southeastern Pennsylvania. It is decorated with a dotted or splattered slip design, a style of decoration that was also popular with European earthenware potters in the eighteenth and nineteenth century.
