A Fine Redware Dish, Green Copper and Brown Manganese Four Quill Slip

Dry Pottery was previously known as Melcher Pottery. Active 1804-1880

John Dry (1785-1870), who apprenticed to Melcher took over pottery in 1804 at age 19; he and his three sons produced pottery and farmed. Daniel (1811-1872), Nathaniel (1842-1864) and Lewis (1843-1932).

This fine redware plate with coggled edge, features a heavy wavy and straight line four quill slip decorated interior: wavy trails of green and brown slip centering straight band of brown and green slip stripes.

Item Condition: Mentioned for accuracy are trivial small rim chips that do not distract, otherwise excellent condition with virtually no wear to interior. Displays beautifully.
