Probably Marshfield, Massachusetts area, a joined chest [molded rails and stiles] in very early pale blue and green paint remaining at full height. The interior retains a lidded till and fitted area underneath. The facade features three chip-carved blue painted panels. This rare example is the only known chest with chip carved square devices on each side of the diamond ornament, which conform to a common south shore formula, which was usually done with applied moldings.
