Southeastern Pennsylvania (Active 1783-1830)
Martin Brechall (c. 1757–1831) was born in Europe and came to America before the Revolution, in which he fought. After the war, he was a schoolmaster in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania and produced baptismal and other certificates for neighborhood children. He is consistent in his Fraktur designs and colors that he produced primarily using red and black with hearts and rectangles.

Item Condition: Excellent condition with trivial age-related pigment losses; there are two minor [short] tears at center-left-outside-border that are perfectly approximated and do not distract. The fraktur has been lightly cleaned and deacidified and is properly mounted within the period frame.
