The Guns Are 6 7/8″ Long, and 7 1/8″ Long Respectively, Irish in Dublin Style
A pair by anonymous maker, .47 caliber percussion, unmarked and un-proofed, Bearing County Kilkenny registration. The Damascus barrels have a patent breech and feature flattened engraved butts featuring engraved silver caps; straight grain finely checkered walnut full stocks, and long back action lock with integral flash guards; never had barrel key escutcheons. Both rammers with silver bands are appropriately replaced. All furniture is beautifully engraved German silver including trigger guard with long tang and shaped finial; thumb plate, butt-cap and rammer pipe. Each pistol features two silver barrel bands at breech. The breech tang, lock-plate and hammer display beautiful scroll engraving; barrel is similarly engraved at breech and is border engraved. Brass bead front sights. Smooth actions. Made without second lock plate screw and no fly on the sear. There are no marks inside except Roman numerals.
