The stylized composition of crest rails is unique to Chelmsford as are the spacing of banisters which are centered by urn finals atop the turned posts [joining arms featuring scrolled handholds]. The four turned and split spindle banisters are over trapezoidal seats raised on block and turned front legs and raked rear legs joined by stretchers. The pair are assembled and show only trivial differences.
