An original mid-nineteenth-century mahogany fitted case for the Colt Model 1851 Navy percussion revolver, accompanied by a period Colt’s Patent powder flask. The rectangular case features a hinged lid, brass keyhole escutcheon, and a compartmentalized interior lined in burgundy velvet, designed to accommodate the revolver and its accessories.
The powder flask displays the classic Colt military trophy design, incorporating crossed pistols, artillery, flags, and military accoutrements beneath the embossed “COLTS PATENT” marking. This distinctive pattern is closely associated with Colt’s percussion revolvers of the mid-nineteenth century.
