“Susanna McKillips born may [sic] 9 / the A D 1811”
Wrought by Susanna McKillips (b. May 9, 1811, d. January 22, 1844, Bradford, Orange County, VT), who married John B. Underwood Jr. on June 12, 1831, and had two daughters and a son.
This sampler was created in Bradford, Vermont, and features the inscription “Time what an empty vapour tis and days how swift they are.” Flanked by trees. There are four neatly compartmentalized alphabets within a border.
