Rushlight holder mounted on a cast goffering iron base, exhibiting the workmanship of an accomplished rural blacksmith. The counterweight arm is fitted with narrow jaws and terminates in a prominent heavy arrow/diamond-shaped counterweight, a feature characteristic of examples attributed to the Radnorshire/Montgomeryshire region of Wales.
