Tin Chamberlain Patent Lard Oil Lamp, America, circa 1854, the lamp with adjustable drum-shaped font can be rotated to bring the fuel to the dual flat wicks. As the wicks burned, the heat traveled down metal conductors to melt the lard so it could be wicked and burning smoothly. The drum and reflector are supported on a weighted square base featuring canted sides. The removable pierced hanging strap at the back supports a round radiating embossed reflector. This is an attractive lamp.
