B/Greive/1727 / Wide bodied squat Mallet, olive green glass, wide body of equal diameter at base and shoulder. The Greive family lived at Ord House, Berwick-on-Tweed, Northumberland. The original owner was Benjamin Greive (1688-1768), a successful businessman. Although Berwick-on-Tweed is in England, the property straddles the Scottish border, and the house is actually in Scotland.
