Slightly Flared Profile, New England Cooperage Made, Bayberry Green Paint

A handsome New England firkin retaining its original mellow [rarely encountered] bayberry green paint with wonderful dry surface and untouched patina. The lid is secured with clinched copper tacks and wood pegs, while the bottom retaining band is of iron, an appealing, and early combination of materials. The swing handle remains intact, and the stout staved body displays fine craftsmanship throughout.
