This is a small globular body with slender cylindrical neck, and looped handle, inscribed WHIT above a flourish. A wonderful example.

Item Condition: Excellent condition with usual trivial edge chip to base, displays beautifully. When this bottle was photographed prior to 1984 to be included the monumental book Dated English Delftware by Lipski and Archer – peeling of tin glaze [frittering] was evident on the spout rim which is now covered in glaze. Obviously, the owner directed that it be reglazed. The cobalt content title and date are original.. *We have a note from the ex-owner
Provenance: It has a history of T. Scholes, S 16.1.1962, and Tilley and Company, London, and Ex Troy Chappell Collection.
