Finely finished steel double spring loaded rushlight holder incorporating opposing spring jaws mounted on a hand-turned wood base. The finish of the steelwork is consistent with the work of a whitesmith. The style is consistent with examples dating to the fourth quarter of the eighteenth century. From Robert Lang Collection.
