Origin: Boston & Sandwich Glass Company, Sandwich, Massachusetts
Fine early American blown three-mold tumbler in the McKearin GII-18 geometric pattern. The cylindrical body is ornamented in three distinct registers: elongated vertical ribbing above and below a broad central band of closely spaced diamond-diaper decoration. The underside displays a molded radial arrangement of eighteen lobes surrounding the rough pontil scar. An especially pleasing example exhibiting the substantial weight, brilliant resonance, and crisp mold definition associated with early American lead glass.
