Classic Norfolk-style characteristics popular in colonial American homes (particularly in New England). The piece features a gracefully curved handle terminating in a slender, hooked “rat-tail” finial at the top and bottom; thumb press is a simple, slightly dished lever pivoting on the stem. The upper and lower backplates are pierced with three holes.
