Featuring Robust Top Rails – Exaggerated Terminals and Arch

A refined and closely matched pair of New England fan-back Windsor side chairs exhibiting hallmarks of eastern Connecticut production along the Thames River corridor. The arched crest rails, nine spindles, vase-and-ring [and baluster] legs joining H-stretchers with swelled and tipped medial stretcher… and the saddle seat with pontil relate to Norwich–Lisbon–Stonington shops, as does the saddle seat with pontil most notably those associated with the Tracy family and their contemporaries.
