Hepplewhite… chamfered [octagonal] tapering posts on square tapering legs joining flat headboard featuring half-moon cutout sides; beaded and molded rails. Outstanding original red painted surface. A bed displaying similar post treatment is pictured and discussed on page 206, (figure 107) of New England Furniture at Winterthur by Nancy E. Richards and Nancy Goyne Evans.
The bed is sold with appropriate iron brackets fitted to interior corners of frame, also a sheet of top-grade plywood conforming to posts and fitted to rails – ready for Futon installation. Bed is sold with modern flat tester and bed-hanging.
