C.A. Codman Painting, Waterfront Woodland Sporting Camp, Log Cabin, Fishing

A man tends a caldron hung over a fire; there are two men before the cabins open door, one with long fishing pole…another man with fishing pole sits on a tree stump petting a dog. Another man stands on the shore as a birchbark canoe with two me approaches the shoreline. The bucolic picture features a distant mountainous background, large birds [probably ducks] fly over a wooded landscape of hardwood, birch and pine trees set against a colorful sky. The picture showing figures engaged in outdoor activity is reminiscent of a Maine wilderness.
