Needlework Sampler by Caroline Moore, Sterling, Massachusetts

Wrought by Caroline Moore in Sterling, Massachusetts where she was born in 1809; she married Prescott Dickinson in 1860 in Spencer, Massachusetts; she died in Watertown, Massachusetts in 1887. She is buried in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge Massachusetts. (Genealogy is available)

This lovely sampler features a hair clipping [small wreath] tied with a ribbon above her name… below is a large basket of flowers flanked by roses and starflowers. Above her name are three alphabets. The work is framed with a beautiful floral and vine border.
