This embroidered family register memorializes the marriage of Noah Sabin (b. July 10, 1774) and Elizabeth Morgan (b. October 8, 1774), who were married January 31, 1799; also birth and death dates of their 12 children.

The work was wrought in Windham, Vermont. The sampler is bordered with undulating vines, issuing grapes, leaves and tendrils on a green Woolsey background.

Item Condition: An examiner must look closely to find scattered pulls to the warp and weft of linen which are limited to the extreme right between 2 and 3 o’clock [and very bottom right corner]. All else fine and original; the piece displays beautifully with no distraction. The vintage frame is not original.
