Rare American needlework of the Turner family coat of arms, probably Salem or Boston, MA, c. 1800-1810. Period frame. The design is based on the watercolor coat of arms made popular by the heraldry painters John Coles Sr. & Jr. Needlework coats of arms are quite rare. Examples are in the Winterthur Museum and Historic Deerfield.
