This scarce and superb boxed example of George Pratt’s double barrel burglar alarm and animal trap gun circa 1880-1890 rarely presents itself for sale complete with box and instructions; this example has a patent date of Dec 18, 1883 on the trigger. The gun is complete with the swivel base and instruction sheet advising use of Union Metallic cartridge Company’s number 11 caps. In a green box with black and green printed label advertising “Pratt’s Patented Burglar Alarm Manufactured by George M. Pratt, Middletown, Conn.” More than 95% of the galvanized finish remains on the box grading very fine to excellent.
