Sixteenth Century Northwest European Candlestick, Image 1

This is a very successful version of a popular 16th century candlestick form. This one is taller than most and the shaft elements are quite successful. The base is of drum form evolving from earlier candlesticks having a large mid-section drip pan.

Date: 16th or early 17th century

Measurement: 8.5"

Material: Brass

Condition: Good. There is a small patch on the edge of the base and the candlestick, made in two parts has been tightened in the past with soft solder under the drip pan where the two elements meet.
