The chamfered curly maple [once held pincushion] is hinged allowing access to thread storage compartment that is fitted with eyelet/gromets facilitating thread extraction. The thread storage compartment surmounts two graduated working-drawers, each with wooden pulls. The ovolo moldings and the overhanging tier-dividers are decorated with green and red paint. The box is raised on frontal carved paw feet; rear feet are turned turnip shape painted green. The pincushion frame and drawers are dovetail joined; carved quarter round moldings having turned, carved, and pinned fasteners join and secure each tier.
