The lid with projecting [applied] molding over a deep chest atop the molded lower case having three-over-two drawers, over a single long drawer. The case is raised on short cabriole legs resting on slipper feet. The lid, coffer front, and lower drawer display outstanding marquetery, mixed media inlays including woods, dyed ivory, and pewter. The top displays a large oval featuring inlaid pewter initials surmounted by bird; beneath are large, conjoined Griffith-like birds with acanthus-style feathers... all within a rich foliate and floral border. The front of upper case features three panels of marquetry including but not limited to weapons, musical instruments, and architectural elements within a meandering leafy vine issuing fruits and flowers. The center panel flanked by panels showing elaborate classical architectural compositions. All panels are crossbanded; inlaid spandrels ornament the facade of top case. Rectangular inlaid panels center bottom drawer brasses.

Condition: Excellent, corner of overhanging drawer front is missing a small section as depicted... lock has been moved; any imperfections are trivial. Displays beautifully, nice color and patina.
