Antique Tramp Art, Sewing Box, Circa 1900, angle view

An outstanding composition, with additional features of mirrored glass, upholstery tacks, and drawer hung beneath the silk lined compartment, having mirror set within lid. We note that the maker also applied layered chip carving to the bottoms of all four feet, and that he ornamented all sides and top. The box, with a reddish resin stain, remains in superb condition, except minor losses. (H: 9", W: 12", D: 7.5")
