The best draught beer tower we have seen, featuring five hand-pull tap handles and
associated brass spigots. The facia, side and back boards are not original, however the
molded top on which the taps are mounted is original. The porcelain pull-down taps
remain in fine original condition.

A rare, outstanding and complete set displaying the blacksmith’s mastery of craft
The entire nomenclature was ornamented with a whitesmith’s file; the latch bar,
staple, thumb terminus on thumb-press and the large nail-heads are notched and scalloped. Interior
components display a beautiful plumb-brown color; exterior in old black. This fine example is closely
related to that on the Pocotopaug Tavern, East Hampton, Connecticut 1; also, the Nathan Hale
Schoolhouse in New London, Connecticut 2. (Length: 26.25”, width: 4 1/8”, latch bar length: 15.25”, the
staple is 3.25” wide.) 1: See Early American Wrought Iron by Albert Sonn, page 110, p-late 139; 2
and page 112, plate 40.

A wonderful and successful effort having great detail and a strong presence; centering the vent are relief cast initials "JG" and a horse head; just behind the muzzle is a rampant lion; the tube is set within the highly detailed carriage by trunnions. The piece remains in remarkably good condition including wheels; some loss to bolt head edge with all else fine.
