splayed legs with cutout feet. Rosewood grained ground with freehand paint of leaves,
vine & berry decoration.
Likely made for large doll house, great shelf piece.
Slightly projecting lid with applied molding, dovetail joined case, molded base standing on turned feet. Oxidized bittersweet paint…moldings and feet painted black. The initials and date are done freehand in gold paint. Gold stenciled ornament centers the walnut inlaid lock escutcheon. Retains key, overall good condition, very minor paint imperfections as shown; no restoration. (12 x 21.5 x 9")
The thumb-molded lid suspended from original tinned sheet iron and wire hinges; case with applied base molding is raised on outstanding tall cutout base.
