Measurement: 4.75" x 6.75" x .75"
Condition: Displays nicely although slivers of wood missing from inside edges of
molding; top horizontal molding intact.
Additional Information: The arched top above molded rectangular frame, carved
backboard…original glass and great surface.
A beautiful and elaborate frame with a rectangular mirror plate within a molded carved and gilt scroll edge frame surmounted by a spectacular carved, pierced and gilt double scroll pediment centered by a gilt-wood eagle, the sides with gilt-wood bellflower and acorn trails. (24.5 by 50")
Additional Information: Highly individual design, mortise, tenon, and peg joined frame.
Checkout the carving on verso of crest! 19th century red varnish over original red. The
applicator of red varnish got some on edges mirrored glass, we are confident that the
plate is original. An outstanding piece of Americana

Late 18th century to early 19th century courting mirror in the original box with reverse painted tablet.
Dimensions: Box 16.5 by 11 1/8"; mirror 15.5 by 10.25".
Pierced cruciform finial above scratch decorated lobed crest above silvered glass; maker used chipped fragment of glass and cleverly filled the small missing area with carved wood. The piece appears earlier than the scratched date of 1838. (6.25 x 3.75 inches.)
