Slab and modeled redware; top pierced to receive sand and inkpots, also a pair of pierced hearts and five apertures for pens. Down-sloping sides with applied ornament join the molded strap-rail with scrolled ends surmounting five fans creating a well. As expected, the vestiges of time include scattered small-and-few glaze losses; glaze loss to the face of scrolled front molding.
(Overall very good; scattered small areas in in-paint; Height: 3.5"; width: 7.25"; depth: 4.75".)

Approximately 4.25" h, approximately 5 1/3" across top, approximately 2.5" at bottom. Marblehead matt blue glaze with modeled berries, branches and leave in red, green, and brown, black glaze around incised rim has gaps from firing, light blue interior, signed on bottom with Marblehead Pottery mark of ship flanked by "M" and "P." Excellent condition.

As depicted, the jug featuring "earthworm" slip decoration, and green glazed rouletting has an applied handle. Please know that there is a chip on the outside edge of the spout where it meets the jug and the spout has a tight crack on either side where it attaches to the jug, no restoration. (Height: 6.75".)

Porcelain shaving mug, belonging to an Italian-American with unusual, possibly unique, decoration depicting his pride in both nations. On one side is Italia, holding a national flag and surrounded by symbols of art and learning; she is reaching across the ocean to clasp hands with Columbia, who holds an American flag and is surrounded by symbols of commerce and industry; beneath them is an eagle clasping a banner that reads "PERSERVANDO VINCES;" the mug is signed "Z. S. & C. / BAVARIA" in green on the bottom. The mug has the name "BOB ANTINO" and "1916" in gilt. Some wear on the gilding, otherwise excellent condition. Ex-collection of Henry Tolman II.
