Pair, Flintlock Pistols, Rare Left and Right Hand Locks, Silver Mounted, Carved
Tapering Turn Off Barrels, Cannon Muzzles, Gold Flashed
Circa 1730

A two-stage barrel, faceted, and round tapered with cannon muzzle; cannelured; overall quite smooth brown as is the finely engraved lockplate, border engraved frizzen, cock and jaw. The carved walnut stocks have very good color and patina; no imperfections. The silver butt cap with long tangs features a shoulder length portrait of gentleman within oval; beautifully engraved silver trigger guard with long faceted tangs is beautifully cast and finished. The curvaceous sideplates are finely engraved; original screws with engraved heads. Mechanically tight, overall excellent condition; very rare. (Overall: 6.75”; barrel: 3”)
