Likely American, Unknown Maker, Circa 1780
The eagle pommel is pierced to receive a small ring on which is affixed a chain that connects to the lower quillon; the S-form quillon is terminated with eagle head finials. The spiral scratch-carved walnut grip is banded in silver; silver ferrule at the base of grip. The slightly curved blade has a single edge; about 25% of blade is decorated with etched designs; blade displays mottled gunmetal gray with some scattered and light surface pitting.
