A .78-caliber octagonal-to-round 54-inch barrel with bayonet lug on bottom of muzzle. The forend stock slightly reduced to accommodate lug; brass nose-band added when lug was installed. The stock is nicely grained and remains in very good condition; nice patina. The barrel is mostly plumb-brown and smooth; as expected, some even light pitting in breech-tang area. Lockplate is a smoky-gray color; even light pitting; frizzen refaced during period of use. All brass furniture has good dark patina. Bayonet not original.
