Description and price have been updated to reflect information generously shared via recent email from an expert puppet collector.

Saracen (Moor) character, opponent to Charlemagne (Christian), one of many characters depicted in battles on the Sicilian puppet stage. Apparently it is possible to determine the city of origin with some basic research. Purchased at NH Dealer show 26 years ago and subsequently relegated to long term storage (safe, dry, and sound asleep). Sizes are from memory, although can be confirmed for someone with serious interest. Approx 24" for puppet alone, plus another 12" or so for handling device. Cool guy.
