Maple and pine grain painted turned post bed featuring fabulous yellow detailing against
black and red ground of headboard. Side rails present, fine condition.

Material: Maple and birch

Condition: Fine and original

Additional Information: Hepplewhite…chamfered [octagonal] tapering posts on square
tapering legs joining flat headboard featuring halfmoon cutout sides; beaded and
molded rails. Outstanding original red painted surface. A bed displaying similar post
treatment is pictured and discussed on page 206, (figure 107) of New England Furniture
at Winterthur
by Nancy E. Richards and Nancy Goyne Evans.
