within oval lozenge flanked by stylized tulip-like devises. The front is ornamented with

18th Century Tabletop Box, Original Red Paint
Found long ago in Connecticut, circa 1750-1780
Red pine, poplar, and white pine…beautiful red paint

The slightly domed cleated top on conforming case of dovetail joinery; bottom attached
with rosehead nails; large strap lock hasp; two pair original history straps hinges. The
top now attached with very old leather hinges, one with updated leather
(Original remains with box). Height: 9"; width: 23"; depth: 16".
