Approximately 5 ½-inches h. Oriental motif blue transfer, floral transfer decoration around top and on scroll handle, blue "+" on bottom. Restoration to spout and rim.

"Dewey Boy"/ "Nantucket Sailor Boy"
Whirligig with Semaphore Flag Paddles - SOLD



Well-made whirligig in form of a sailor wearing a metal broad brimmed sailor hat with a tassel and holding red and white semaphore "flags" in his hands. Red, white, and blue paint appears to be original. Beyond the expected weathering it is in excellent condition.
(Approximately 13-inches high; 14 ½-inches with semaphore flag raised.)

Stoneware Storage Jar with Cobalt Decoration



Stoneware storage jar with cobalt decoration at top. Probably of Pennsylvania make. It has one very small, very shallow chip on rim mentioned for accuracy, otherwise very good. Measures 7.25-inches in height and 4.75-inches in diameter.

Miniature red dome top tin document box with wire ring handle on top and a flip latch. Measures 2-inches in height, 2.75-inches in width and 2-inches in depth.

Shriner Fez in Case and Cufflinks



Burgundy Shriner heavy felt fez w/ gold and silver bullion embroidery, "ORIENTAL" and Shriner symbol, black tassel, red leatherette slip case w/ paper label on bottom printed "ONE IMPORTED FEZ" and "P. A. MATTESON / BENNINGTON VT" as well as date "1919" inscribed in black ink. In the fez is a calling card w/ the name "C. W. Higgins / Albany, N.Y." as well as the scimitar and crescent symbol of the Shriners and the symbol of the Knight's Templar, on the reverse a list of Masonic titles and lodges are listed. There is a silver colored Shriner cufflink w/ enameling and a paste ruby marked "R & F,"and a gilt brass Masonic cufflink.

Small Domed Lid Trinket Box
Painted tin
19th century



A great little box decorated with a white stripe trimmed in red on the front with red berries and green leaves, intersecting yellow lines on the dome and a yellow line around the base, wire ring handle. As usual, the lacquer has yellowed over the white and there is some flaking and scratches to the japanning. Lid and latch are secure.

Approximately 85-inches x 21-inches. Chinese scroll painting on gold silk mounted on paper depicts two parrots, grapes and vines, a tree w/ white berries. Linen backing, some creases and roughage along edges.

Approximately 25-feet l x 11-inches w. Block printed polychrome flowers and acanthus bordered by geometric shapes, printed on heavy paper, some foxing and deckling along edges, untrimmed.

19th century



A painted tin tray with black interior decorated with central motif being a cluster of red fruits and feathery white and green leaves, the exterior and bottom have traces of gold japanning. Some loss of interior japanning and small chips in painted decoration, tray is solid with one small dent on the rolled rim. (Approximately 9-inches x 6-inches x ¼-inch.)
