Eastern Woodland Native American Splint Basket
With Vegetable Stamp Decoration



Condition; dark patina and strong color.

Footed Splint and Beaded Yarn Hair Pin Cushion



Approximately 5-inches L x 4-inches W x 3-inches H. Oval splint basket w/ tapered sides; bentwood legs; extended zigzag splint decoration around rim secured w/ brass pins; ring handles w/ red and maroon bows; looped red, pink, white, and maroon yarn cushion, each loop has a very small clear glasss bead. Overall good condition, some breaks in weave around legs.

The box is mounted on a marble base, and has applied foliate decoration.
Condition: chip on the cobalt glass, otherwise excellent.

Having a jockey mounted on mule and title on top of base, bottom marked "PATD APR 22 / 1879." Excellent action, trap appears to be replacement, 60% paint coverage. (Approximately 10 ¼-inches l x 8 ¼-inches high.)

Approximately 22-inches l x 10-inches h x 12-inches w. Grain painted with slight dome top, basswood box; "NFM" painted in yellow on top of lid; iron lock painted black, brass keyhole cover; no paint on back side; interior very clean; solid w/ expected dents and scratches throughout. Known owner with family history available. VT origin.

In Shaker Style



Two over two configuration in red stain; dovetailed and nailed drawer construction. Shows some in-use moisture compromise to the surface upper left top and one drawer, although overall construction is tight. Owner or maker stamp on back of one drawer "Fred. G?????".

Stepped Box
With Reverse Painted Glass Inserts



Approximately 14-inches x 7-inches x 8-inches overall, top box approximately 11 ½-inches x 3-inches x 6-inches. Stepped Glove box / dresser box painted brown w/ 3 reverse painting on glass inserts (one cracked), two on the top box, one on the bottom drawer, the inserts are held in place w/ ebonized beading, the 2 wood knobs on the drawer are also ebonized, top box has lid and is lined w/ wallpaper and has cove molding joining it to bottom box. Overall very good condition w/ usual wear on paint particularly on the right corner of the lid, the drawer has a hole drilled where a lock was apparently planned but never added.

African-American Girl Doll
Porcelain, w/ Chair and Spinning Wheel
19th Century



Doll approximately 17-inches L, chair approximately 11 ½-inches H, spinning wheel approximately 9-inches H. Doll has porcelain head, arms and legs w/ overglaze black enameling; painted eyes; blue and white gingham dress w/ MOP buttons, upright spinning wheel has working treadle; seat and back of chair are upholstered in paisley fabric. Chair and spinning wheel in very good condition, dolls head has vertical crack running from forehead down, hair appears to have been added, small chips on tips of toes, chips on back of right calf. Note: doll's head is damaged, with wig covering major loss. Sold as a 3-piece grouping only.

Russian Brass Candle Holder w/ Shade
Circa mid-19th century



Approximately 18-inches h with shade, candle holder approximately 12-inches h. Brass candle holder, stepped dome base, triple knopped standard, open work shade holder, spring loaded seat, tulip-shape clear glass shade w/ etched decoration and ruby flashing around edge. The candleholder has a seal on the bottom w/ an "H" surrounded by Cyrillic lettering. Shade in excellent condition, there is solder showing where the standard joins the base.

English "Blue Meissen"/"Onion" Oval Earthenware Platter



Approximately 16-inches l. Blue transferware oval platter w/ floral motif in center and "onion" border, transfer mark on reverse "Blue Meissen" in buckled belt over "England," earthenware, c. 1891 - 1910. Glaze crazed throughout, stained, no chips or cracks.

Approximately 7 ½-inches h x approximately 10-inches l. Well molded hen on basket, overglaze enameling on hen and nest, interior glazed, no chips or cracks, some wear to edges of enameling on nest.

Polychrome Delft/Faience Tile



Approximately 5 ¼-inches x 5 ¼-inches x ½-inch. Very well decorated tile w/ child sniffing flowers inside of a circle w/ trefoils in each corner, done in green, purple, yellow, orange, and cobalt. Two or three very small, shallow chips on surface, expected chipping along edges. Buff/sand colored body, c. late 17th - early 18th c.

Matt Blue Tapered Marblehead Bowl
With 3 Color Decoration



Approximately 4 ¼-inches h, approximately 5 1/3-inches across top, approximately 2 ½-inches at bottom. Marblehead matt blue glaze w/ modeled berries, branches and leave in red, green, and brown, black glaze around incised rim has gaps from firing, light blue interior, signed on bottom w/ Marblehead Pottery mark of ship flanked by "M" and "P." Excellent condition.

Pair of Cobalt Flint Sandwich Hexagonal Candlesticks
Circa 1840 - 1860



A wafer joins each stick, the mold marks do not line up on one stick, hexagonal sticks such as these were produced in Sandwich. Excellent condition. Barlow Kaiser number 4026. (Approximately 9 ¼-inches high.)
