Tall Clock...with best Masonic dial
Scotland
Circa 1835

A small mahogany case with an eight-day movement and enameled dial.
The incredible dial has all Masonic symbols and even a compass and square motif forming the spandrels. The hands are original including second bit and calendar; clock is mechanically fine and stands at 88.75-inches.

Nathan Negus Paint Decorated Masonic Box - SOLD

Nathan Negus (1801 - 1825) was a talented ornamental and portrait painter who apprenticed under John Ritto Penniman at his Boston shop.
Dimensions: Approximately 9.5-inches by 6-inches by 4.75-inches.
Decorated with paintings of various Masonic symbols, this dovetailed box has a paper mounted inside the lid that is inscribed in black ink "Nathan Negus - His Box / The Columbia Lodge, Boston."

This distinctive black walnut frame is identical to that which is published within John Haley Bellamy Carver Of Eagles by Yvonne Brault Smith; page 90, owned by the Museum of Our National Heritage, Lexington, Massachusetts. The frame remains in fine original condition and measures 22 by 31.5-inches.
