Rectangular box of dovetail construction in bright paint; red paint rolled with putty on yellow ground. Minor imperfections that do not distract...tight crack in top with minor fill; bottom board has slight warp with small wedge of wood "broken-out" due to shrinkage resistance against nail; lock plate probably retrofitted with appropriate period replacement.
This good looking trunk is 10-inches tall; width: 27.75 inches; depth: 14.5 inches.
